How I got it:
Picked it up in my March 2000 bulk purchase. Works great, and the monitor looks fantastic. Glad it does because it has a special monitor. The side art has some large scratches, and the cabinet needs a good cleaning. But, the game is in great condition overall. The high score LED’s all work fine. I read somewhere on the net that these are troublesome. Anyone who knows about some of the issues with Turbo, let me know. Just won an Ebay auction for an original Turbo Flyer. I would like to get a nice original flyer for each of my games!
Recent repairs:
Repaired the shifter so that it would stay in gear. It actually was held up by some nylon rubbing on the shifter. Had to adjust it and it works fine. Also realigned the accelerator pedal for better control.
What it still needs:
Not much right now. A new light bulb for the marquee, and a better cleaning than what I did.
Final Thoughts:
The first real race game I played as a kid. I love Monaco GT also, but heard they are tough to fix. This game will probably hang around the collection for a while. The subwoofer effect is great! Especially in the tunnel.
