I was never very good at Tron. I could usually make it to the third level before it blew me away. Ever since I restored my current machine, I’ve made a more serious attempt at actually becoming good at this game. Well, I hit a milestone tonight with a score of 119,750. It was pretty tough, but at least when I died it was because I forgot what to expect at each level. There are different “patterns” or specific ways to attack different levels, and after several levels this can become difficult to keep straight. I think I am going to actually write down some notes so I can remember when playing, and not lose a life to be reminded. I know that people that have really mastered this game have “marathoned” it, or basically kept it going for seriously long periods of time. I don’t know if that’s what I want to be able to do some day, but it is fun trying to master this game that I’ve always loved since a kid!
Here’s a shot of the high score:

Just in case you wondered how that compared to the Twin Galaxies World Records, it would come in 22nd which really isn’t anything impressive. Now if I could hit Seven Million points…

Congrats on the 100K mark. You should consider submitting a top score to Twin Galaxies. I moved to Fort Wayne about 6 months ago. I’m working to restore my Tron. I was curious to find out where you purchased your new side art from. I have heard that some places sell poor copies of the side art, which is printed with an ink jet. Keep up the great work.

@Marty, Thanks, I might someday submit a score. I actually want to make a submission for Donkey Kong, but I have a long way to go before I can send something I would want posted on there. Hey, if you ever get in the South Bend area, drop me a message and come by to visit.
As for your Tron, go to http://www.phoenixarcade.com for all the artwork you need. It’s a bit pricey, but it is the best available. If you do get sideart, make sure you apply it using soapy water because it is very large and a too thin to work with dry.
I am from Gent, Belgium and I was a very good player when I was about 15 years. My personal record was 5560444 and it took me about 10 hours to achieve that. My last life I lost on the grid bugs because Iwas completely surrounded. Try for the million mark, its not that hard.
