I’ve had a *ton* of requests for copies of the Pub Time Darts manual and schematics that were sent to me by Merit. They do not support the game any longer, but they sent me a free set of the documentation. They also emailed a nice description on how to modify the boards to not need their special power board. Here is a copy of our email conversation:
My Email Request:
I have a Merit Pub Time Darts machine that is missing the power supply that supplies 14 and 9 Volts. Do you have one available? I’ve checked all of my other sources and have not found any parts for it. The model I have is the normal one without the CRT display, but it has the cricket kit installed.
Thanks,
Jeff Waldron
Their Response:
Jeff,
The power supply for your game is no longer available. It is possible to replace the power supply with a switching power supply. It will require some modifications to the logic board. You will need a switching power supply rated at +5 volts @ 11 amps, +12 volts @ 2 amps. The current rating can be higher. You will connect the +12 volt output to the +14 volt wires in the harness. The +5 volt regulator on the logic board should be removed and the +5 volt output from the power supply will be connected to the +5 volt pad the regulator was soldered to.
This should supply the proper voltages to have your game work again.

Hope that conversation helps you. Of course, try this at your own risk. It helped me! The schematics show a section on the right of page one where the modification is to be made.

Jeff, thank you for this! I have needed this for a long time. Hopefully I can get the cricket section working now. Haven’t had any luck yet, even with a new psu.
Good luck! I wish I knew more about how this game’s electronics worked to help you further. I know of many expert arcade guys out there, but no one that really specialized in dart machines.
Thanks again Jeff!! I have been searching for this for a while.. Ur Awesome!!
Thank you. I was one of the many contacting you about this. Now I can finally fix mine. The future wife will so happy that I can keep it now./sarcasm end
i have a pub time dart game had lots of fun with it moved it from the house to the garage removed the upper half so it would fit through the door after putting it in garage plug it back in an score board flashed some numbers yet it wont work at wits end with what to do. any suggestion
Joe, check your voltage coming from the power supply board. Make sure you’re getting the right voltage. After that, I would reset all of the connections. Disconnect then reconnect everything that can be disconnected. These older games end up having connection issues pretty often, especially when moving them.
jeff thanks for the tip but i have no knowlegde in electronic repairs i live in san diego, do you know of any shops or techs i could have look at it , maybe fix it. i do know that one ribbon needs to be replaced drt 325 hope you can help me thanks joe
Not personally. Go to http://forums.klov.com and post a request on the boards. There are a ton of California collectors that frequent the boards and should know someone decent.
I’m looking for a pub time dart board game that has the monitor. Does anyone know of where I might find one?
Keep an eye on ebay. There always seems to be parts and games on there for those.
i am working on a pub time with a monitor
do you have a diagram on the monitor
and does the diagram you post work for this model
@Mike W: I don’t have a manual for that model, and I would seriously doubt if there is enough similarity to safely use what I have. If you knew enough about schematics then maybe you could use the information as a starting point, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
hi i just got a pub time board, however it is only the top half so it does not have the coin mech with it is there anything i can do to bypass that option without buying a coin mech
Pete, The coin mech is just a switch that is wired to ground and the coin input wire. Check the schematics or wiring to figure out which go to the coin mech, then just wire them up to a separate button. Then you can use the button to “add credits”. Are you planning on mounting the top to a wall? Interesting idea.
Does anyone know how to hook-up an external CRT monitor to a Pub Time board? Seems like it would be a fairly simple operation, but my knowledge of game electronic schematics is minimal at best. I have a Pub Time model with the internal CRT monitor (Hanatrex) that is broken and I can’t find a replacement for the life of me, so I figured I would just hook-up an external one. Anyone done this before? I think it requires some type of switch. If anyone has any ideas let me know! Also, any ideas on where to find a key to the coin collector? Thanks everyone, great resource!
@Steve, Sorry but I don’t have any experience with those models. Hope you find an answer so you can play your game!
hey I have a pub time dart board that I just finally got to take bask out of storage and now the game change button does not work any idea on how I can get a new one or a replacement of some sort thanks in advance
Hey guys. I just picked up a Pub Time Premier darts (monitor version)the other day. I was fortunate enough that it still had the manual in it. If anyone needs spedific info from it - including the method to add an RCA plug for an external tv monitor, shoot me an email.

I have a couple of these Pub Time dartboards and love them! But I have one question…..one of them has a motion sensor for auto player change screwed above the dartboard(looks factory) but I do not know where to hook the wires to or where to hardwire them if at all possible. If anyone knows, please let me know!!
